Need a go-to for farmhouse decor? Hobby Lobby has got it allll.
I remember when my friend told me about this place called Hobby Lobby. She was like “If you go to Grand Forks again, you need to go there. You’ll love it!”
And boy did I ever.
The first time I went there, my husband and I were still dating.
We live in Canada and the one sad part about that is not having a Hobby Lobby around. I’ve legitimately joked around about moving south just to be closer to one. (#LOL)
It was 2013 when we visited the first time. I was not into decorating yet (hadn’t “discovered” it, more accurately), but we were Christmas shopping and even then I remember them having lots of selection.
My Favorite Farmhouse Decor
Fast forward to 2018. My husband surprised me with a trip to Grand Forks for our anniversary. We stayed one night and of course, did a lot of shopping.
I’d say I spent at least half my time there in Hobby Lobby (did I mention I have an amazing husband?!)
They have decor for every area of your home, for pretty much any type of project or design idea you can think of. Baskets, florals, dishes, signs (so many signs), furniture, nursery items, craft supplies, themed decor, it’s all there.
PSA: This post is not sponsored. I just genuinely love and enjoy this place and wanted to share that with you all.
This was the first thing we saw when we came in. It was late August so all the fall decor was out in the main lobby (and of course way more inside yet as well).
The next thing I was obsessing over were these beautiful pastel dishes, especially the pinks. I mean, how gorgeous is that?!
Something else I love about Hobby Lobby is that they have legitimately amazing sales on certain sections of the store throughout the year. All of the florals and greenery were 50 percent off. Fall decor was 40 percent off.
The summer beforehand when I went with my mom and sisters, all of their wreaths and signs were 50 percent off. Signs, every single one of them. It was so hard to pick!
The moment I saw this cake stand, I was so tempted to buy it. But I mainly wanted it because of the gorgeous greenery and verse and thought, how often would I actually see that once I’d use it?
However, there were some mugs there with the exact same design, so I ended up getting one of those – all the mugs were 50 percent off as well, so yay for saving some money!
Like I mentioned beforehand, all of their florals and greenery were half off. And their selection is incredible! Everything from cotton stems (which for some reason are nearly non-existent in Canada, at least in my part) to green potted plants.
One of the things on my list was a lambs ear garland. If you’ve never heard of lambs ear, today you’re going to fall in love with it like I did when I stumbled on it.
It’s a beautiful, soft and subtle greenery. You can use it for any season and it will always enhance any area where you use it.
I even planted some real lambs ear in my flower bed in the summer, thinking people were using the real stuff in their decor (which you can do, but mine didn’t grow super tall the first year).
As I kept making my way through the many aisles, I stopped and stared (what else was new), drooling over this beautiful nursery sign. I was joking with my husband that I should buy it even though we’re not expecting.
Speaking of signs, there are soooo many at Hobby Lobby.
This truck painting also stopped me in my tracks. Looking back, I wish I would’ve bought it, but maybe I can snatch it up the next time I go.
Aren’t those florals and details just so stunning?
Can you begin to understand why I spent so much time in here? How in the world is a girl supposed to pick just one sign?! Ironically, while I love their signs the most, on both trips I’ve come home with small signs.
This time with one that I want to display in our kitchen that had the words “Yum” written on it. My husband was so amused that even I started to become amused by my choice.
I love it though and can’t wait to style it on my kitchen counter (once the backsplash is painted).
I didn’t end up taking a lot of photos of furniture, but they had some cute pieces there too.
This cabinet!
Isn’t is the cutest thing? I fell in love, it was so unique and I loved the vintage vibes, perfect for a farmhouse decor lover.
Of course, I fell in love with pretty much everything inside of the store. If you’ve never been, save up and put a few items on your list, so you don’t walk in completely overwhelmed.
Well, you might still walk in a bit overwhelmed, in a good way. Take your time and browse for the fun of it, even if you have to circle the store fifty times (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything ;)).
Also, download the app or sign up for their email list and get a 40 percent off coupon, redeemable for one item. I’ve done that each time we go and it’s nice to save money on at least one item.
Why is Hobby Lobby my go-to for farmhouse decor?
- Amazing selection
- Great prices
- Legitimate sales
- Coupon friendly
- Galvanized items
- All the signs
- Florals and greenery
- Wooden letters and other products
- Enamel products
I honestly don’t think you can go to another retailer with as much selection for farmhouse decor for the price that Hobby Lobby offers. Of course, I’m Canadian and don’t have access to all the other related stores for comparison.
However, there’s a reason this place is so popular for decor enthusiasts and why people keep returning for more.
It was a wonderful little getaway and of course I spent most of my budget for the trip at Hobby Lobby. No regrets friends!
