- Gather your supplies.
About a year ago I saw this peony bouquet and snatched it up at Walmart. I knew it would be perfect for arrangements and wreaths. I also got this dusty basil and found my gold hoop wreath at a local dollar store.
2. Next, cut your greenery into separate stems.
I took one of my dusty basil stems and cut it into 3 separate pieces (I only used two here). Attach it to the hoop using floral wire.
3. Pop off the heads of your flowers.
Unless you have flowers that already have just the heads, you’ll want to pop off the heads so you can use them on your DIY spring wreath. That’s what I loved about the peony bouquet, there was that option to pop them off and I can always place them back on if I ever wanted to.
4. Lay out your flowers, then hot glue them in place.
This part was a bit frustrating for me because my one big flower kept wanting to fall off. I realized I wasn’t using enough hot glue, so finally I slathered a lot on the bottom and then it stayed on. So my tip: apply glue generously. 😉
5. Display your beautiful spring wreath.
The awesome thing about wreaths is how easily they can be changed out and moved from one location to another. I love the simplicity and yet it still makes a stunning statement.

Our winters are so long here, so when the snow slowly disappears and green sprouts of flowers start coming up, it’s such a good feeling.
I decided to get an early start and bring nature inside for this fun and exciting season.
