Stone Cottage Home has a great bedding selection and today I’m sharing one of my favorites with you!
Are you ready to replace that worn and torn comforter or quilt for a new one?
If you’re anything like me, you enjoy the process of searching for a new item for your home, but sometimes the process can seem a little overwhelming.
Where do you start? How do you choose “the one?”
Stone Cottage Home Bedding Selection
When I was presented with a choice from Stone Cottage Home on choosing a bedding set, I was so excited. They carry a vast selection at various retailers including Target, Kohls, Overstock, Amazon, JC Penney and Bed Bath and Beyond.
I spent at least a week pouring through their selection, saving favorites, picturing them in our bedroom and finally making a decision.
This picture had a lot to do with it. 😉
So what does the process look like? How can you implement it?
- First, browse to see what “speaks” to you. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard that expression, but when I’m shopping or browsing, if an item really “speaks” to me it stays in my mind and I can go back to it when I’m at the end process.
2. Decide on a color palette. The easiest way to do this is to work with the current colors in your bedroom. Do you want the bedding to blend in, or to create a nice contrast between the wall colors and your bedding? We had recently installed a wood panel feature wall, so I knew I wanted something more neutral to soften up the space.
3. Lastly, choose Your Favorite. I know, this speaks for itself, right? Once you’ve narrowed it down to a select few, outweigh the pros and cons of each. Do you prefer the quilt with more texture, or a simple clean-lines look? I loved the ruffled effect of the ivory quilt I ended up choosing.
I’m obsessed with the ruffles! They add such a nice cozy touch and really give the bedroom a nice elegant flair against the panel backdrop.

There Is No Right or Wrong Bedding Choice
Sometimes we place a lot of pressure on ourselves to choose the “perfect” piece. And all sorts of questions pop up while we’re in the middle of browsing and saving a bajillion things to our Pinterest boards:
What if it will look terrible against the headboard? What if it won’t match the rest of the room? What if it clashes with the wall colors?
This is part of the process but you can shorten that by trusting your gut and going with the one that most speaks to you. Don’t fall for the “but I might find an even better one for a better price” story that often likes to creep up on us and keep us stalling on our decision-making.
It’s not like we’re marrying the bedding set, right? We can always exchange it, and it won’t be in there forever. Of course we want to choose something we love, and that’s what matters most of all.
